(updated except from Igbere Mirror Magazine)
From time immemorial,
Igbere women have
always made significant
the development of the
community. They have
aways been organized
in one form or the other,
respected the cultures and
traditions of the community
and at the same time
promoted it in unimaginable fashion.
Despite several challenging times that threaten peaceful
coexistence and social interaction, the women always come
out with innovative ideas that promote unity and at the same
time protect the core belief of the Igbere people. They
recognized the role of the guardians of Igbere heritage and
the custodians of the traditions of the people. Read More -----

Message by IPAI Executive President Chief Mike Awa (bio)
The great members of Igbere Progressive Association International, Inc (IPAI), elders,
brothers and sisters, September 1, 2008 marks the first year anniversary of IPAI. Life is too
short, who could easily believe that a year has passed after our great convention in Atlanta,
Georgia last year (September 1-2, 2007). I believe that these dates would remain
remarkable in our lives because of our determination not only to be part of history but also to
make positive contribution(s) to Igbere.
At the IPAI Convention 2007
held in Atlanta, Georgia, the first
Executive Committee members
and Board of Directors were
elected and inaugurated as
provided in the adopted and
ratified IPAI constitution -
presented by the members of
Caretaker Committee that
worked so hard and smart to
execute the assignments given
to them in Houston during the
first Igbere people in Diaspora
convention in 2005.
Most of the time it appears easier to create, form, or bring into being than to nurture,
maintain, improve or keep the initial spirit level alive and progressive. The Executive
Committee members are fully aware of these difficulties and instead of being discouraged
are determined to lay a great foundation. Read More

NEW YORK CHAPTER OF IPAI HOSTED THE CONSUL GENERAL OF
NIGERIA IN NEW YORK (Contd.)
The high point include:-
- Registration of Nigerians in the United States of America.
- Registration of Nigerian Associations in the United States.
- Registration of Volunteer Attorneys.
- Phasing out of old Nigerian Passports, and the issuance of the new e-passports.
Forms relevant to the registration were made available to the chapter
and are therefore available to any body interested. The consul also promised
to bring the process of issuance of the e-passport to our door step as an
organized body if our numerical application is at least 20.
The Consulate General in New York is ready to serve the Nigerian Community, but it
must first know about the people to serve. That is great goal of the registration drive.
